No, I did not grow up on a farm, but I did visit my grandparent's farm quite frequently as a child. How did you learn about farm life and the animals? Lots of books and on-line research. Talking with others that have experience has been a great help. I have had to learn to get over being shy and ask a lot of questions when attending a fair, swap meet or a farm and home supply store. How soon is a billy kid active? A billy kid can become sexually active as early as 3 months of age. You must seperate your billy kids as soon as they can be weaned from the mama. How soon can a doeling be bred? A doeling can become fertile as early as 6 - 9 months, however, you should wait until your doeling is a year old before allowing her to be bred. This is best for her health as well as the kids health. How did you get into raising White German Shepherds? Farmdad's father raised German Shepherds when he was a child. He enjoyed having them around and decided he wanted a couple on the farm. One thing led to another and now we have six white German Shepherds.
